Lüneburg airfield

The Lüneburg air sports club has existed since 1950 and can be found at the Lüneburg airfield (ICAO code: EDHG) at home in the east of the city. It is located between the B4 in the west, the Theodor Körner barracks in the north, the Elbe side canal in the east and an industrial/commercial area in the south. Motor, sailing, motor sailing and ultralight flight operation take place on site. The grass runway, reinforced by plastic panels, is shared by all sectors of the association.

The attractive historic old town In Lüneburg invites you to visit from the air and for planes who want to have a longer stay, we also offer accommodation directly on the square. There is no control zone in the area that would affect flight operations. Only the restricted area around the ‘Krümmel’ nuclear power plant on the Elbe and the Motor flight ban at lunchtime On Sundays and public holidays, out of consideration for the inhabitants of the city. The Lüneburg Heath in the south-west is interesting for gliders, which is thermally usable and therefore attractive for cross-country flights.
